Iberian American leaders in Cadiz
The President of the Republic took part, in Cadiz, Spain, in the first acts of protocol that signalled the beginning of the XXII Iberian American Summit of Heads of State and of Government.
In addition to his presence at the Summit’s inaugural ceremony, presided by King D. Juan Carlos of Spain, held in the Falla Grand Theatre, President Cavaco Silva visited, with the remaining Heads of State, the Sao Felipe Neri Oratory in that Spanish city, which was followed by a dinner hosted by the Spanish monarch.
The inaugural act included speeches by the Secretary General of the Iberian American Conference, Enrique Iglésias, by the President of the Spanish Government, Mariano Rajoy and by King D. Juan Carlos, as well as a performance of the Spanish National Ballet.
