Técnica inovadora premiada
The President of the Republic presided, in the headquarters of the Champalimaud Foundation, in Lisbon, at the award ceremony of the 2012 António Champalimaud Prize for Vision, which distinguished two innovatory techniques in the vision of the retina in healthy and sick people, enabling the study of its structure.
In the ceremony, President Cavaco Silva presented the prizes to James Fujimoto, David Huang, Carmen Puliafito, Joel Schuman and Eric Swanson, who developed the Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and to Eric Williams, mentor of the technology of Adaptive Optics (AO), after which he delivered a speech,
