Jorge Carlos Fonseca received in Belém
At the beginning of the State Visit he is holding in Portugal, the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, was received, in the Palace of Belém, by the President of the Republic.
After having been to Jerónimos Monastery, where he laid a wreath on the tomb of Luis Vaz de Camões, the President of the Republic of Cape Verde proceeded to the Palace of Belém where he received military honours.
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva held a short meeting with the President of Cape Verde and Mrs. Lígia Fonseca, this being followed by an enlarged meeting between both Heads of State and their respective retinues.
At the end of the working meeting both Presidents made statements to the Media.
