The President of the Republic decorated Ambassador Domingos Fezas Vital with the grade of Grand Officer of the Military Order of Christ, at the moment when he relinquished his duties as Presidential Consultant for International Relations, to become Portuguese Permanent Representative (REPER) with the European Union, in Brussels.
