The President of the German Federal Republic, Christian Wulff, and his Wife, will carry out an Official Visit to Portugal on 10 and 11 February instant, at the invitation of President Aníbal Cavaco Silva.
This will be the first Official Visit to Portugal of a Head of State, after the re-election of President Cavaco Silva, and its aim is to contribute towards the strengthening of the bilateral relationship between Portugal and Germany.
The official programme will commence on 10 February with a working meeting in the Palace of Belém, between President Cavaco Silva and President Christian Wulff. This will be followed by a banquet hosted by the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva, in the honour of the President of the German Federal Republic and his Wife.
On the second day of the Visit, President Cavaco Silva will accompany his German counterpart on a visit to the Autoeuropa plant, to be followed by meetings between President Christian Wulff and the Speaker of Parliament and with the Prime Minister.
