Statue of Dom Luis I
The President of the Republic visited Covilhã, at the invitation of the local County Council, on the occasion of the celebrations of the 140th anniversary of its being granted a City Charter.
In a ceremony held in the City Hall, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva received the Medal of Honour and the Key to the City, after which he unveiled the statue paying tribute to King Dom Luís I and opened the exhibition “140 years 140 undertakings”.
