Ceremony in the House of Parliament
At the invitation of Head of State Pedro Pires, the President of the Republic attended, in the City of Praia, the Solemn Ceremony commemorating the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Cape Verde, which was held in the Country’s House of Parliament.
This event of the young African Country is being held in the same year of the commemorations of the 550th anniversary of the discovery of the Cape Verde islands by Portuguese navigators, a fact which was emphasized by the Praia authorities on this occasion.
