Arrival in Baião
The President of the Republic visited the county of Baião, and was solemnly received in the ceremonial rooms of the County Hall, after which he left for Ancede to preside at the inaugural act of the recently built Civic Centre.
Later, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva headed for Cruz do Douro, where he visited the Douro Palace Hotel and attended a presentation of a project of a new hotel to be built in the neighbourhood – the Douro Grand Hotel.
