After the march past of the forces on parade, Pope Benedict XVI visited the Jerónimos Church, where he prayed, and the cloisters of the Monastery, after which the Popemobile was escorted by a cavalry detachment of the National Republican Guard, between Império Square and the Palace of Belém.
