Students of the Mobile School visited the Palace of Belém

A group of students from the Mobile School – a project of distance learning for the children of itinerant professionals (fair workers or circus artistes) and other young people unable to attend school for periods in excess of three months – visited the Palace of Belém and met with the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva.

The Mobile School, which covers the national territory, includes basic and secondary (professional) learning and takes into account specific family needs and contexts, is based on a learning platform within a virtual environment and has a strong artistic component. This project is partnered with schools and with several public and private institutions.

The visit was held within the scope of an educational project covering “Citizenship and Identity”, and the students toured the Museum of the Presidency and the various halls of the Palace of Belém. The meeting with the presidential couple took place in the Waterfall Gardens.
