The date on which the Parliamentary Bill allowing civil matrimony between people of the same gender was received in the Presidency of the Republic was wrongly published yesterday. The same took place regarding the period during which the same bill could be remitted to the Constitutional Court for it to be preventively investigated as to the constitutionality of its provisions.
The Presidency of the Republic issues the following clarification:
1. Parliament sent to the Presidency of the Republic the Bill in question on Friday 5 March. As such the constitutional delay for requesting preventive investigation ended on Saturday 13 March.
2. The President of the Republic thus remitted the bill to the Constitutional Court on the last day of the period established by the constitution.
