Exhibition in the Palace galleries
The President of the Republic opened, in the galleries of the Palace of Belém, an exhibition of Christmas related Illuminated Manuscripts and Sacred Art paintings and sculpture.
The exhibition, named “Joy in Heaven and Earth”, combines a number of unknown works of Portuguese cultural heritage which are dispersed in private and public institutions.
Showing works of art produced between the 15th and 18th centuries, the exhibition will be open to the public visiting the Museum of the Presidency and the Palace of Belém until 10 January.
The opening included a performance of the Santo Amaro de Oeiras Children’s Choir.
