Great affluence to the Palace
Thousands of people have visited the Palace of Belém since the 1st of October, to view the performances included in the celebrations of the 5th anniversary of the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic.
Celebrations began with the opening of the exhibition “1 century, 10 Pencils, 100 Drawings: Viarco Express" and carried on with concerts performed by Maria João and Mário Laginha, by the Classic Music Orchestra of the Centre and by the Choir of the Archaic Choral Society, José Cid and the Male Gospel Choir, as well as the Hot Club School of Jazz.
Several musical performances took place in the various stages set up in the Palace of Belém, which featured dance and theatrical ensembles, as well as traditional bass drums and mummers. Students from various levels of learning took part in pedagogical activities dedicated to them.
Until Sunday, 4 October, more than 4,000 people visited the Palace of Belém to attend the various performances alluding to the anniversary of the Museum of the Presidency.
The celebrations ended on Monday, 5 October, simultaneously with the commemoration of the anniversary of the founding of the Republic, a further day during which the Palace of Belém will be open to the public with a specific programme to celebrate the event.
