The General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic issues the following clarification:
Decree-Law No. 132/2009, dated 2 June, created the Department of Information Technology of the Presidency of the Republic, as well as the respective office of Head of Department.
The appointment of the Head of Department took place on 1 July 2009, no one having until then been appointed to head any department in the area of information technology.
Dr. Paulo Costa, as the sole official in the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic with a career as an expert in technology, ensured the coordination of the existing staff until the appointment of the Head of Department of Information Technology, and currently continues performing the same duties as heretofore.
