The President of the Republic will travel to Edinburgh, in Scotland, on 23 June, to receive the Master’s Honorary Degree which will be awarded by Heriot-Watt University. Heriot-Watt University, one of the most renowned higher education institutions in the United Kingdom, originates from the Edinburgh Fine Arts School, founded in 1821.
Included in the programme of his visit to the United Kingdom, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva will stopover in London, on 22 June, where he will hold a meeting with the British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, in the Official Residence.
