Invited by the President of the Republic, Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, D. Juan Carlos and D. Sofia, will visit the Madeira Autonomous Region, on 30 July and 1 August next, accompanied by President and Mrs. Aníbal Cavaco Silva.
This Visit follows that which the Spanish Sovereigns made to the Azores Autonomous Region, in 2005, and will allow Their Majesties to become better acquainted with the reality of the Portuguese Autonomous Regions.
The Programme of the Visit will include contacts with the Regional and Local Authorities, as well as visits to several institutions of the Madeira Autonomous Region.
