Emir of Qatar visits Portugal officially at the invitation of the President of the Republic

Invited by the President of the Republic, His Highness the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani and his Wife, Her Highness Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, will carry out a State Visit to Portugal on 20 and 21 April.

His Highness the Emir and his Wife will be officially received in the Palace of Belém by the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva. The welcoming ceremony will be followed by a working meeting between the two Heads of State and a luncheon. The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva will host a banquet, in the Palace of Ajuda, in honour of Their Highnesses the Emir and his Wife.

The official programme of the visit will also include audiences with the Speaker of Parliament and with the Prime Minister, as well as an Economic Seminar to reinforce the bilateral relations between Portugal and Qatar in this field.

This is the first visit to Portugal of a Head of State of Qatar.
