Grand Cross of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator awarded to Manoel de Oliveira
The President of the Republic paid tribute to film maker Manoel de Oliveira, on the occasion of his 100th anniversary, decorating him with the Grand Cross of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator, in a ceremony which was held in the Palace of Belém.
The film maker’s wife, Mrs. Isabel Oliveira, actor in Manoel de Oliveira’s films as well as several film directors and producers also attended the award.
After the ceremony, the President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva hosted a dinner in honour of Manuel de Oliveira.
