The President of the Republic will join the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Manoel de Oliveira, by paying a tribute to the film maker next Saturday, 13 December, in the Palace of Belém.
This ceremony, to be held at 19:30 hours, will be attended by some of the actors who worked with the film maker throughout his career, as well as other Portuguese film directors of different generations.
President Aníbal Cavaco Silva will take the opportunity to decorate the film maker with the Grand Cross of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator.
Later, the President of the Republic will host a dinner in the honour of Manoel de Oliveira.
