The President delivered a speech to the two Chambers of the Spanish Parliament
In a joint plenary session, the members of the Spanish Parliament and Senate welcomed the President of the Portuguese Republic, who received the medals of honour of both Houses.
After this, President Cavaco Silva granted an audience to the leader of the main opposition party in Spain, Mariano Rajoy, President of the Popular Party, and later attended a concert performed by the Gulbenkian Choir, in the Royal Pardo Palace, where the Spanish Monarchs were also present.
The programme of the second day of the Presidential visit closed with a dinner party hosted by the Cavaco Silva couple to the Kings of Spain, Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofia.
