Contemporary Art in Belém
The President of the Republic officially opened the exhibition "18 Presidents, one Palace and Many Other Things", with works by contemporary artists, and which will be on show to the public in the Palace of Belém, on 5 de October and until the end of November.
The exhibition is part of the programme that the Presidency of the Republic prepared for the day when the proclamation of the Republic is celebrated, and during which the Palace of Belém will be open to the public.
Joana Vasconcelos, Julião Sarmento, Noé Sendas, Paulo Catrica, Pedro Calapez, Rita Sobral Campos, Rodrigo Oliveira and Susana Mendes Silva are the artists showing their work in the Palace of Belém, in an exhibition with Miguel Amado as commissioner.
After the opening of the exhibition a concert of Portuguese music with the songstress Lula Pena was held in the “Bichos” patio.
