UMass with doctorate in Portuguese
The President of the Republic visited the University of Massachusetts (UMass), at Dartmouth, especially its Department of Portuguese and Centre of Portuguese Studies. This University has now been provided with a doctorate in Portuguese Language.
Later, in a ceremony which preceded a reception in honour the Portuguese Community in the area, President Cavaco Silva decorated seven Portuguese citizens honoured on the occasion of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities.
