Arrival in a landau

President of the Republic visits Alter do Chão

During his visit to the County of Alter do Chão, the President of the Republic officially opened the refurbishment of Castelo da Vila (“Village Castle), and was taken to the gates in a landau escorted by 30 horsemen.

President Aníbal Cavaco Silva visited, in the Castle, an exhibition of the Works of sculptor Maria Leal da Costa and attended several cultural activities.

Following this, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended a luncheon hosted by the local Mayor, held in the Gardens of the Alamo House.
