Entrepreneurial Innovation Prize in the Portuguese Diaspora
COTEC considers as very positive the results of the candidacies for the Entrepreneurial Innovation Prize in the Portuguese Diaspora. Approximately 170 Portuguese residents in various parts of the world contacted COTEC to obtain further information and support for submitting their candidacy.
Proposals for the award of the prize which will be presented by the President of the Republic, were received from 65 candidates in several areas of activity in 5 Continents.
Proposals from male candidates numbered 60, and 5 from female candidates, from differing sectors of activity: Agriculture, Cinema /TV/ Journalism, Sports, Entrepreneurial / Finance, Research / Science, Catering / Tourism, Clothing / Fashion / Design and Civil Construction.
As stated by Filipe de Botton, Chairman of the Award Committee “We are very satisfied with the results, both as regards the number of candidates and the quality of the projects submitted”. He further said “This adherence to the Prize in such a short time, means that the communities are alert to Portugal and that the bonds exist, strengthening the aim of this prize – to distinguish and celebrate the entrepreneurial and innovatory Portuguese around the world”.
