The President of the Republic has requested the Constitutional Court to preventively supervise the provisions of the proposed legislation which establishes conditions for the binding, the careers and the remuneration of workers in public office

The President of the Republic requested today, from the Constitutional Court, the preventive supervision of several provisions in the legislation issued by Parliament which establish conditions for the binding, the careers and the remuneration of workers in public office.

The issues placed by the President of the Republic for review by the Constitutional Court relate to: the application of the referred legislation to judicial magistrates; the new rules for establishing contracts for specific tasks or periodical work; the automatic precautionary retention, under certain circumstances, of half the basic remuneration of public officers; the development of principles or general bases of certain juridical conditions by administrative ruling; the determination through agreement of the levels of remuneration of public officers; and the establishment by administrative ruling of specific criteria of access to Public Office and of the maximum and minimum levels of remuneration admissible in the framework of the relations within public employment.
