At the invitation of the President of the Portuguese Republic, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, will officially visit Portugal on next October 25.
The visit will begin with a welcoming ceremony, comprising military honours fronting the Jerónimos Monastery, after which President Vladimir Putin will be received in the Palace of Belém, by the President of the Republic and, later, in the S.Bento Official Residence, by the Prime Minister.
The President of the Republic will host a banquet in the Palace of Ajuda in honour of his counterpart, prior to which both Heads of State will preside at the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition “From Peter, the Great, to Nicholas II – Art and Culture of the Russian Empire in the Hermitage Collection”, which will remain open to the public in D. Luís I Gallery, as well as a piano concert dedicated by President Putin to President Cavaco Silva.
On the following day, the President of the Russian Federation will take part in the European Union-Russia Summit Meeting.
