Prize awarded in Culturgest
The President of the Republic presided, in the Culturgest Auditorium, in Lisbon, at the award ceremony of the “Literary Life” Prize, attributed by the Portuguese Authors’ Association, to Maria Velho da Costa.
Installation in the Palace of Belém
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva opened the Ephemeral Luminous Installation “Nights of Light”, a project of LIKEarchitects, in the Gardens of the Palace of Belém.

Finalizing a campaign dedicated to social entrepreneurialism, the President of the Republic took part in the closing session of this initiative, held in the Almeida Garrett Library, in Porto.
Personal tribute in Porto
On the date of the cinema director’s 105th anniversary, the President of the Republic paid a congratulatory visit to Manoel de Oliveira in his Porto home.
Contact with innovatory projects
Included in his initiative “Youth and the Future of the Economy”, the President of the Republic attended, in Porto, a campaign dedicated to Social Entrepreneurialism and Economic Development, in which many young countrywide social entrepreneurs took part.
The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Family of plastic artist Nadir Afonso.

The President of the Republic attended, in the First National Bank Stadium, in Soweto, Johannesburg, the official funereal ceremonies that the Republic of South Africa organized in memoriam of former President Nelson Mandela, who passed away on 5 December.
