The President of the Republic presided at the celebrations of the 30th Anniversary of the Transinsular Company, in the Port of Alcantara, Lisbon.

The President of the Republic dissolved the Legislative Assembly of Madeira Autonomous Region and set the regional elections to be held on 29 March next.
The decision was announced by the Head of the President’s Civil Household, Dr. José Manuel Nunes Liberato.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the subscribers of the Manifest “For a democracy with quality”.
Ceremony in the “Fado” Museum
In the “Fado” Museum, Lisbon, the President of the Republic decorated fado singers Ana Moura, Carminho, Katia Guerreiro and Ricardo Ribeiro, and guitarist and composer Mário Pacheco, as Commanders of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator.
The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to the President of the Republic of Zambia, Edgar Lungu.

Alberto João Jardim received in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the President of the Madeira Regional Government, Dr. Alberto João Jardim.
Meeting in the Palace of Belém
The President of the Republic presided at the meeting of the Council of State, called after the hearing of the political parties represented in the Madeira Legislative Assembly, following the resignation of the Regional Government.
At the end of the Council’s meeting, the following communiqué was disclosed:
The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia upon the death of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The President of the Republic received New Year Greetings from the Armed Forces Chiefs of Staff, whom he later entertained at lunch.
Concert in CCB
The President of the Republic attended, in the Grand Auditorium of Belém Cultural Centre, Lisbon, the Concert “Sing the Alentejo”, in Honour of “Cante Alentejano” recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Human Heritage.
