President Cavaco Silva attended the Empowerment Ceremony of President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, held in Parliament House.
The President of the Republic received military honours from the Presidential Squadron of the National Republican Guard before leaving the Palace of Belém, upon concluding his two presidential mandates.

Sessão solene na Câmara de Cascais
The President of the Republic received, in a ceremony held in Cacscais County Hall, the title of Honorary Citizen of the County and the Key to the Town.
Official Picture of the President
The unfolding of the official picture of the President of the Republic was held in the Palace of Belém. The painting, by artist Carlos Barahona Possolo will be exhibited, from 9 March onward, in the Picture Gallery of Former Presidents, in the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic.
Maria Angela Holguín received by the President
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Maria Angela Holguín.
S. Julião da Barra Fortress
Invited by the Prime Minister, the President of the Republic presided, in S. Julião da Barra Fortress, at a meeting of the Council of Ministers dedicated to the Sea.
Ceremony in Belém
The President of the Republic decorated the Chief and the Deputy Chief of the State Protocol, Ambassador António de Almeida Lima and dr. Jorge Silva Lopes, respectively with the Grand Cross of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator and with the grade of Commander in the same Order.
Delivery of letters credential
The President of the Republic received letters credential from new Ambassadors to Portugal.
Meeting in Cidadela Palace
The President of the Republic held a meeting with the Councils of the Portuguese Honorific Orders.
The meeting, which took place in Cascais Cidadela Palace, comprised the Chancellors and Members of the Councils of the Ancient Military Orders, of the National Orders and of the Orders of Merit.
