President of the Republic congratulated the Under 21 National Soccer Team European Vice-Champion

The President of the Republic sent a message of congratulations to the Under 21 National Soccer Team which had achieved the title of European Vice-Champion in the competitions held in Prague, Czech Republic.

Following is the text of the message from President Cavaco Silva:

“At the conclusion of their participation in the Under 21 European Soccer Championship, I want to congratulate the National Team for having achieved the title of Vice-Championship and for their performance and reputable classification.

Their presence in these finals of the European Championship, held in the Czech Republic, was a motive of pride for all soccer players and fans, dignifying the sport and contributing towards the value of Sports activities in Portugal.

Our collective applause is deserved by the young players, the managing team, the Portuguese Soccer Federation and all who were linked to this reputable performance of the Under-21 Team.

Please accept, on behalf of all Portuguese and my own personal name, our sincere wishes for personal well-being and continued sports activities.
