Decoration ceremony
The President of the Republic witnessed the signature of a protocol between the Paredes and Paços de Ferreira County Councils and four entrepreneurial associations for the setting up of a furniture cluster, at the closure of the 5th Campaign of the Route to a Dynamic Economy.
In addition to the two County Councils, the protocol was subscribed by the Entrepreneurial Associations of each of the councils, by the Portuguese Association of Furniture and Related Industries (APIMA) and by the Portuguese Association of Wood and Furniture Industries (AIMMP).
Held in the Lordelo Centre for Professional Training, in Paredes, the closure ceremony also included the decoration of several Furniture Industry individualities.
The following entrepreneurs were decorated with the grade of Commander of the Order of Merit – Class of Industrial Merit: Arménio Moura, Carlos Aquino, Ilídio Machado, Mário Martins da Silva, Mário Silva, Rodrigo Pedrosa Francisco and Silvino Moreira Lino.
President Cavaco Silva then addressed a speech.
Prior to this ceremony, the President of the Republic had visited companies Sarimóveis and Luis Nunes Silva as well as the Henrique Furniture Shop.
