President of the Republic holds official visit to Norway

The President of the Republic will hold an Official Visit to Norway, from 4 to 6 May next. The programme will include the cities of Oslo and Bergen.

During the visit to Norway, the President of the Republic will hold meetings with His Majesty King Harald V of Norway and with Prime Minister Erna Solberg. The President of the Republic will also meet the Portuguese Community residing in Norway and will promote cultural initiatives.

The visit will have a strong component linked to the agenda of the sea, with special reference to scientific and technological research and to biotechnology. In this context the President of the Republic will attend a seminar and a meeting with members of the scientific and entrepreneurial communities linked to those sectors. Equally standing out will be the economic, entrepreneurial and investment areas, specifically in the energy industry, within which scope the President will hold working meetings. These initiatives will approach the strengthening of the cooperation between both countries and of the relations between the scientific and entrepreneurial communities.

In this trip, the President of the Republic will be accompanied by members of the Government and by entrepreneurial and research retinues.
