Eucalyptus and cork oat rows
The President of the Republic held a campaign dedicated to Portuguese Forestry, in which the first initiatives covered eucalyptus and cork oak plantations, carrying out visits to nurseries and industrial facilities in the eucalyptus and cork oak rows.
Espirra Estate, in Pegões, Montijo, owned by the Portucel Soporcel Group, was the first stage of this campaign, where President Cavaco Silva viewed a presentation of the Root Project, the nurseries, the bio-facility and the shadow unit.
In Ponte de Sor, the President visited the Amorim Forestry facility, where he viewed cork oak research, innovation and sustainability projects, as well as the different stages of cork treatment and of several resulting products.
