President of the Republic attends Investiture of President Filipe Nyusi in Mozambique

The President of the Republic travels to Mozambique from 13 to 16 January to attend the Investiture Ceremony of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi.

The Ceremony will be held on 15 January, in Independence Square, Maputo, this to be followed by an Official Reception in Ponta Vermelha Palace.

Apart from the political angles of the visit, which will include meetings with President Filipe Nyusi and with the outgoing President, Armando Guebuza, the programme will also comprise economic and entrepreneurial features. The President of the Republic will hold a meeting, on 14 January, with Portuguese entrepreneurs established in Mozambique and will visit the facilities of Portuguese Company MCM – Mozambican Cotton Manufacturers.

The President of the Republic will also promote a meeting with individuals from the Mozambican political milieu and will visit, on 15 January, the Maputo Heart Institute.

President Cavaco Silva will hold an encounter with the Portuguese Community resident in Mozambique on 16 January.

In this visit the President of the Republic will be accompanied by members of the Government.
