New monument
A monument paying tribute to the City and inscribed with an epithet associated to Guarda – the ”5 F” (Fria (Cold), Farta (Bounteous), Forte (Strong), Fiel (Faithful) and Formosa (Beautiful)) – has been erected in a city roundabout, opened by the President of the Republic on the occasion of the National Day of Portugal.
After the unveiling of an allusive plaque, President Cavaco Silva started off an urban trail sports event, in which several dozen young sportsmen took part.
