Raising the National Standard
In the beginning of the celebrations of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, the President of the Republic attended, in Luis de Camoes Square, in Guarda, facing the City’s Cathedral, the raising of the National Standard.
The President then went via the Street of Commerce, to the Holy Almshouse Church, which he visited and, on the way, viewed the performance of an Ensemble of Clarinets and of the CERCIG Group of Dances and Songs.
When inside the church, he attended a performance by the Choral Society of the Guarda Cultural Centre.
Later, in José de Lemos Gardens, the President of the Republic took part in a military tribute to the Combatants of the Great War (1914-1918).
