The President of the Republic sent a message of condolences to the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, following the tornado that struck the region of Oklahoma.
Following the text of the message of condolences from President Cavaco Silva:
"Mr. President
It was with great dismay that I learned of the large number of victims and devastating damage caused by the tornado that struck the region of Oklahoma.
At this very difficult moment, I wish to convey to Your Excellency and to the American people, particularly to the families of the victims, on behalf of the Portuguese people and on my own behalf, our feelings of deep regret and the expression of our deepest sympathy.
