The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to Ecuador’s President re-elect, Rafael Correa.

Following is the text of the message sent by President Cavaco Silva:

“Mr. President,

On the occasion of Your Excellency’s re-election as President of the Republic of Ecuador, I want to address you, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our warmest congratulations and wishes for every success in carrying out a further mandate in the important office for which you were re-elected.

I am equally certain that, in the course of Your Excellency’s mandate, the relations of friendship and cooperation, namely within the Iberian American Community, will continue being developed for the mutual benefit of both our countries.

I take the opportunity to address you, Mister President, my sincere wishes for your personal well being and for the prosperity and progress of the People of Ecuador.
