The President of the Colombian Republic, Juan Manuel Santos, and his Wife, Mrs. Maria Clemência Rodriguez dos Santos, will hold a State Visit to Portugal on 14 and 15 November next, at the invitation of President Cavaco Silva.
The official programme of the visit will commence on 14 November, with the laying of a wreath, by President Juan Manuel Santos, on the tomb of Luis Vaz de Camões, in Jerónimos Monastery. President Juan Manuel Santos and his Wife will then br received in the Palace of Belém by the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva, this ceremonial act being followed by a working meeting between the two Heads of State.
On the afternoon of that same day, President Juan Manuel Santos will be received in Lisbon City Hall and will later officially open an exhibition by Colombian artist Fernando Botero in the Palace of Ajuda. The programme for the first day will end with a dinner, in Queluz Palace, hosted by President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva, in honour of the President of Colombia and his Wife.
On 15 November, the President of Colombia will preside at the opening of an Entrepreneurial Meeting, where business opportunities will be approached, as well as strategies for the strengthening of entrepreneurial cooperation between both countries.
The programme for this day will also include a meeting between the President of Colombia and the Speaker of the Portuguese Parliament, followed by a working meeting and luncheon with the Prime Minister.
In his visit to Portugal, the President of the Republic of Colombia will be accompanied by several members of the Colombian Government and by a significant entrepreneurial retinue.
