The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to athletes Dulce Felix, Patricia Mamona and Sara Moreira, who achieved medals in the European Athletics Championships, held in Helsinki.
Following is the text of the message of congratulations of President Cavaco Silva:
“I want to congratulate athletes Dulce Felix, Patricia Mamona and Sara Moreira for having conquered respectively, a gold medal in the 10,000 metre, a silver medal in the triple jump and a bronze medal in the 5,000 metre events.
The deeds of these athletes honour national Sports, due to the high level of sports achievement, confirmed by the results obtained in these European Athletics Championships, held in Helsinki.
Such victories are proof that dedication and perseverance in sports are the best path to success and confirm Portugal’s achievements in the various events, and its becoming a country of growing excellence in sports.
