In the terms of article No. 133, item n), of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic, the President of the Republic appointed Dr. Vítor Bento as a member of the Council of State.
A Graduate in Economy, he has held the office, since June 2000, of Chairman of the Board of Directors of SIBS-Sociedade Interbancária de Serviços, S.A.
Included in his curricula are the offices of Chairman of the Board of the Public Credit Management Institute, of Director General of the Public Treasury, of Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Bank of Portugal and member of the Board of the Macau Currency Issuing Institute.
Dr. Vítor Bento was President of SEDES (Association for Economic and Social Development) from May 2006 to April 2008.
