Inaugural act of the Natália Correia Study Centre
The President of the Republic concluded the visit carried out to the Azores Autonomous Region when presiding at the inaugural act of the Natália Correia Study Centre and attending a march past of the County of Ponta Delgada Philharmonic Orchestras.
Meeting in Lagoa, São Miguel
On the last day of his visit to the Azores Autonomous Region, the President of the Republic held a meeting with the Officers of the Association of Municipalities of the Azores, whose Chairman hosted a luncheon in his honour in the Convent of the Friars, in Lagoa, São Miguel, during which the Head of State delivered an address.
President welcomed in Lajes das Flores
The President of the Republic travelled to Flores Island, visited the Museum to view the photographic exhibition “Approaches”, by Jorge Barros, the Lajes das Flores County Hall and Fajã Grande.
Meeting with Corvo students
The President of the Republic travelled to Corvo Island on the fourth day of his visit to the Azores Autonomous Region.
Visit to fish canning industry
The President of the Republic was present in the County of Calheta during his visit to the Island of S. Jorge, Azores, where he went over the Santa Catarina Tuna Fish Canning Factory, was welcomed at a reception held in the County Hall, visited the Francisco Lacerda Museum and enjoyed the view from the Alto das Manadas Belvedere, already in Velas County.
Welcoming reception in Velas
On the third day of his stay in the Azores Autonomous Region, the President of the Republic travelled to the Island of São Jorge where, in Velas County, he visited Uniqueijo – Union of Agricultural Cooperative Societies, producers of the well known local cheese, and later, already in Calheta County, went to the Fajã dos Ubres Belvedere.
Meeting with Azorean parliamentarians
The President of the Republic held a meeting, in Santa Cruz da Graciosa, with the members of all the political parties represented in the Azorean Parliament, who are accompanying him in the visit that he is carrying out to the Azores Autonomous Region.
Sulphur Grotto
The President of the Republic visited the Carapacho Thermal Baths, the Sulphur Grotto (Pothole) and the Ponte da Barca Lighthouse.
Meeting in Graciosa
Within the programme of his visit to the archipelago, the President of the Republic held a meeting, in the Island of Graciosa, with the Government of the Azores Autonomous Region.
Visiting in Santa Maria
At the end of the programme for the first day of his visit to the Azores Autonomous Region, the President of the Republic went to the Satellite Tracking Station of the European Space Agency (ESA), in Vila do Porto, and then to the Santa Maria Oceanic Control Centre, of the Portuguese Aerial Navigation Agency (NAV).
