The President of the Republic congratulated Nelson Évora for having been awarded a Gold Medal in the Athletics World Championship

Upon receiving the news of the victory obtained in the triple jump in the Athletics World Championship which is being held in Osaka, I hasten to congratulate you for the extraordinary result you achieved. This Gold Medal is, undoubtedly, the outcome of assiduous training and perseverance, essential factors for success in sports events.

All Portuguese are proud of the victory you achieved today and are all intent in the consolidation of your progression in athletics.
