President congratulated the sub-20 Rink Hockey Team upon becoming European tetra-champions

The President of the Republic sent a message of congratulations to the National sub-20 Rink Hockey Team upon its winning the European Championship, held in Valongo, Portugal.

Following is the text of the message from President Cavaco Silva:

“At the moment when the National sub-20 Rink Hockey Team became the European tetra-champion of this sports, I am pleased to congratulate all its members for having achieved this excellent result.

The Team’s victory in this final stage of the sub-20 Rink Hockey European Championship, based upon an excellent performance by these young athletes, is a reason for a feeling of pride from all its fans as well as from all the Portuguese, once it dignifies and honours national sports and provides a relevant contribution towards the Country’s international projection.

My congratulations go to all players, technical managers and officers of the Portuguese Rink Hockey Federation for the dedication and driving force shown, and to all of whom I wish all the best personal wellbeing and success in their sports activities.
