President of the President of the Republic sent message to the Portuguese Delegation that took part in the London Paralympic Games

The President of the Republic addressed a message to the paralympic athletes, to the paralympic committee and to the respective technical teams that took part in the 2012 London Paralympic Games.

Following is the text of the message from President Cavaco Silva:

“On the closing date of the London Paralympic Games, I want to congratulate all the participating athletes, the paralympic committee and respective technical teams, for the notable representation and worthy participation in the 2012 London Paralympic Games.

The performance of our athletes is a motive for recognition and applause from us all, and as such, on behalf of the Portuguese and in my own personal name I want to address a very special greeting to the Portuguese delegation, together with a word of incentive in order that your example of work and admirable spirit of sacrifice continues bringing results and proving that it is always possible to go further, to achieve better, even when the greatest of obstacles are being faced.

To you all my very sincere thanks and wishes for your safe return to Portugal.

Aníbal Cavaco Silva”
