The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Family of Artist Fernando Lanhas

Following is the text of the message sent by President Aníbal Cavaco Silva:

“On behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name and that of my wife, I address my heartfelt condolences to the Family of Fernando Lanhas, a name that has left its mark in Portuguese Art and Architecture of the last century.

Fernando Lanhas was a forerunner in his Art, and influenced many artists’ generations through his pioneering and singular work.

In this hour of mourning, it is with deep regret that I render tribute to a man that placed his talent at the service of Art and of Culture, and as such deserving of the recognition of all Portuguese.
