President Cavaco Silva congratulates author Manuel António Pina, awarded the 2011 Camões Prize

The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to author Manuel António Pina, who was awarded the 2011 Camões Prize.
Following is the text of the message of congratulations addressed by President Aníbal Cavaco Silva:
"Upon receiving the news of your being awarded the Camões Prize I wish to congratulate you, in my name and on behalf of the People of Portugal, for this distinction that so greatly honours Portuguese Literature.
The award of this prize is the recognition of the national and international relevance that your work represents for literature in the Portuguese language and is, without any doubt, a reason of great pride for all those who enjoy your writing.
Please accept my congratulations and my sincere wishes for your personal happiness and literary success.
Aníbal Cavaco Silva"
