Congratulatory message from the President to Vasco Graça Moura for the award of the Virgílio Ferreira Literary Prize
I am extremely pleased with the jury’s decision to award the Virgílio Ferreira Prize to the ensemble of your work, and wish to extend my congratulations for this further reward with which your literary work has been distinguished.

By rewarding the work of Vasco Graça Moura, the University of Évora honours its already secular tradition in the Humanities, at the same time as it renders the most adequate homage to that other great writer who was Virgílio Ferreira.

I hope that your work continues and goes on receiving the accolade it deserves, thus contributing towards a greater national and international image of the language and culture of Portugal.
