The President of the Republic sent a congratulatory message to the Prince of Wales on the occasion of his 60th anniversary.
Following is the text of the President’s message:
"Royal Highness,
On the occasion of Your Royal Highness’s 60th Anniversary, I am particularly pleased to wish You, in my name and on behalf of the People of Portugal, our warmest congratulations.
On this occasion of justified exultation for the People of Britain, I allow myself to evoke the inestimable value of the secular bonds that link our two countries, as well as Your Highness’s personal endeavour in its continued deepening and improvement.
I beg you to accept, Royal Highness, my wished for Your personal welfare, and that of Her Majesty the Queen and all the Royal Family, as well as the expression of my highest regard and personal esteem.
