Message from the President of the Republic addressed to the President elect of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev

Mister President,

On the occasion of Your Excellency’s election as President of the Russian Federation I wish to address you, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our warmest congratulations and wishes for the greatest success in the high office you have been called upon to perform.

I am certain that during Your Excellency’s mandate, the bonds of friendship and cooperation which link our countries will find fresh opportunities for being strengthened and expanded.

Renewing my congratulations, please accept, Mister President, my sincere wishes for Your Excellency’s personal happiness and for the prosperity and progress of the friendly people of Russia.
